Abstract

Euroobveznice su vrsta međunarodnih obveznica koje se izdaju u valuti koja nije službena valuta zemlje u kojoj se izdaju, npr. kada američka kompanija izda obveznice denominirane u euru u Tokiju. Smanjena regulacija tržišta euroobveznica jedan je od ključnih razloga njegovog rasta i velike popularnosti u pogledu financiranja. Nadalje, izdavanje euroobveznica na međunarodnom tržištu pruža brojne pogodnosti poput jeftinije cijene zaduživanja, diversifikacije rizika te predstavlja ključan izvor financiranja kompanijama čija domaća financijska tržišta nisu dovoljno razvijena. Trenutno se veličina tržišta euroobveznica mjeri u bilijunima američkih dolara te predstavlja izuzetno važno tržište za financiranje multinacionalnih kompanija i država. U radu se istražuju karakteristike i segmenti eurovalutnog tržišta, analiziraju se prednosti i nedostaci financiranja euroobveznicama te razlozi njihova razvoja i uspjeha. Također, analizirana su izdanja euroobveznica izabranih zemalja Europske unije te izdanje jednog hrvatskog poduzeća.

Abstract (english)

Eurobond is a type of international bond issued in a currency other than the official currency of the country where issued, for example, when an American company issues bond denominated in euro in Tokyo. Reduced regulations of Eurobonds market is one of the key reasons for its growth and great popularity in terms of funding. Furthermore, the issuance of Eurobonds in the international market offers many advantages, such as cheaper cost of borrowing, risk diversification and a key source of financing for companies whose domestic financial markets are undeveloped. Currently, the size of Eurobonds market is measured in billions of US dollars and represents a very important market for the financing of multinational companies and governments. The thesis explores the characteristics and segments of eurocurrency market, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of financing through Eurobonds and the reasons for their development and success. Also, Eurobond issues of chosen countries of the European Union and the issue of a Croatian company have been analyzed.
