Abstract

U radu pod nazivom „Trendovi u osigurateljnoj industriji u Europskoj uniji“ analizira se
osigurateljna industrija te kretanja na tržištima osiguranja u Europskoj uniji, s posebnim
naglaskom na Hrvatsku. Financijska kriza koja je 2007. godine zahvatila američko tržište
nekretnina, a godinu dana kasnije poprimila i globalne razmjere imala je snažan utjecaj na
osigurateljnu industriju. Pošto je osiguranje dinamičan sektor na njega utječu promjene u
okruženju te se sukladno tome javljaju i novi trendovi. Suvremeni trendovi koji se javljaju u
Europskoj uniji vezani su uz regulatorne promjene te nove oblike i tehnike u osigurateljnoj
industriji. Važno je naglasiti kako je financijska pismenost vrlo bitna za daljnji razvoj
osigurateljnog sektora, koji je vrlo dinamičan. Istraženo je kretanje na tržištima osiguranja i
definirane su bitne suvremene promjene u osiguranju u Europskoj uniji. Definirani su bitni
pojmovi vezani uz osiguranje, razvoj i trendove osigurateljne industrije u Hrvatskoj i u Europi
te je istaknut i utjecaj financijske krize na osigurateljni sektor u cijelom svijetu.

Abstract (english)

The thesis "Trends of Insurance industry in European Union" analyses insurance industry and
the movement of the insurance markets with an emphasis on Croatian market. Financial crisis
of 2007 affected American real estate market, while a year later it affected the global industry
and had strong influence on insurance companies. Since insurance industry is a dynamic
industry, changes in the environment are catalyst for new trends. Recent trends in European
Union are connected to regulatory changes and new forms and techniques in insurance
business. More importantly, financial education is crucial for continuous development of
always changing insurance business. Movements of insurance markets are researched and
recent changes of insurance industry in European Union are defined. The thesis notes
important terms of insurance and its developments and trends in Croatia and Europe.
Furthermore, the effect of financial crisis in the whole world is pointed out.
