Abstract
Intenzivno umrežavanje poslovnih organizacija i razvoj interneta stvorili su pretpostavke za razvoj elektroničkog poslovanja, koje uključuje poslovanje među poslovnim organizacijama (eng. business to business), između poslovnih organizacija i pojedinačnih kupaca (eng. business to costumer). Kupovanje putem Interneta danas je najbrži i često najjeftiniji način kupovine nekog proizvoda, a omogućilo je pojavu virtualnih prodavaonica i novog, virtualnog tržišta koje ne poznaje granice. Informacijsko komunikacijska tehnologija jedna je od najvažnijih tehnologija današnjice te je kao takva široko rasprostranjena na sva područja života. Ponašanje potrošača je dinamička interakcija spoznaje, ponašanja i okoline čiji je rezultat razmjena životnih aspekata potrošača koje kao takvo pruža uvid u kompleksnost ponašanja kupaca. U suvremenoj trgovini napušta se klasični način oblikovanja asortimana prema struci te se isti danas kreira u skladu s potrebama potrošača i navikama prilikom kupovine. S obzirom da se životni ciklusi proizvoda skraćuju i da se mijenjaju potrebe i zahtjevi potrošača, brojni proizvodi odumiru i nestaju s tržišta, a u još se većem broju pojavljuju novi, zbog čega asortimanska politika trgovinskoga poduzeća mora biti fleksibilna.
