Abstract

Kako je udio korisnika interneta u Hrvatskoj sa 4,6 % u 2000. godini porastao na 50 % u
2010., istodobno je jačala i njegova uloga u političkom marketingu. Porast broja korisnika
interneta sa sobom je donio brojne izazove pred političare i političke stranke.
U literaturi se često spominje važnost internetskog angažmana Baracka Obame u
predsjedničkim izborima 2009. u Americi. Ujedno njegov primjer može poslužiti kao
smjernica svim političarima kako upotrijebiti snage interneta u svoju korist. Međutim, broj
internetskih korisnika u Hrvatskoj i dalje je niži od zapadnoeuropskih zemalja i Amerike, te je
i manje pozornosti usmjereno na internet u političkim kampanjama.
Iako su analize američkih predsjedničkih izbora brojne i detaljne, u Hrvatskoj su rijetke. U
cilju doprinosa istraživanja političkog marketinga i utjecaja web-portala u političkim
kampanjama odlučila sam se na paralelnu analizu političke komunikacije na internetu u
Hrvatskoj i drugim zemljama svijeta, prije svega Americi. Ovaj specijalistički rad bavi se
planiranjem, analizom i rezultatima web-portala (te alata Web 2.0 općenito) političke
kampanje prof. dr. sc. Velimira Sriće za gradonačelnika tj. člana Gradske skupštine 2009.
godine te analizom i utjecajem internetskih aktivnosti predsjedničkih kandidata iz drugih
zemalja

Abstract (english)

The share of Internet users increased from 4,6% in 2000 up to 50% in 2010 and along with it
it’s role in political marketing intensified. Increase in number of Internet users has become
challenging for politicians and political parties.
The importance of Barack Obama's Internet engagement during presidential elections in 2009
in America is often mentioned in various literature. All politicians could use his example as a
guideline, on how to use the power of Internet to one's own advantage. However, the number
of Internet users in Croatia is still lower than of those in Western European countries or the
United States, as less attention is paid to the use of the Internet in political campaigns.
Although there are numerous and detailed analysis of American Presidential elections, they
are rare in Croatia. In order to contribute to research of political marketing and influence of
web portals in political campaigns, I have decided to conduct a parallel analysis of political
communication via Internet in Croatia and other countries, primarily the United States. This
thesis deals with planning, analysis and web portal results (and Web 2.0 tool in general) of
prof.dr.sc. Velimir Srića's political campaign for mayor, i.e. a member of City council in 2009
as well as the analysis and influence of Internet activity of Presidential candidates in other
countries.
