Abstract

Aktualna situacija s COVID-19 pandemijom je dovela hrvatski i međunarodni turizam na prekretnicu. Upravo iz tog razloga proizlazi nužnost kvalitetnog strateškog promišljanja o tome kako razraditi detaljne smjernice budućeg smjera kretanja turizma u Hrvatskoj te kako se bolje pripremiti za eventualnu krizu. Istraživanje dosadašnjeg razvoja turizma u Hrvatskoj treba započeti kvalitativnom i kvantitativnom obradom krovnog nacionalnog razvojnog dokumenta kojeg čini Strategija razvoja turizma Republike Hrvatske do 2020. godine kako bi se utvrdile razvojne mogućnosti, ali i ograničenja. Da bi se pristup u izradi nacionalne strategije razvoja turizma ocijenio kvalitetnim, potrebno je dokument staviti u međunarodni kontekst, a to se čini na temelju provedene komparativne analize strategija razvoja turizma drugih zemalja. Utvrđivanjem trenutne dostignute razine razvoja turizma u Hrvatskoj, moguće je razraditi nekoliko alternativnih scenarija razvoja turizma, od kojih svaki ukazuje na drugačiju budućnost hrvatskog turizma.

Abstract (english)

Current situation regarding COVID-19 pandemic has brought Croatian and international tourism on a crossroad. Because of that, there is a need for quality strategic thinking on how to work out detailed guidelines for future direction of tourism in Croatia and how to prepare for possible crisis. Research of former tourism development in Croatia needs to start with qualitative and quantitative examination top national development document which is Croatian tourism development strategy until 2020 so that main development possibilities and limitations could be recognized. In order to evaluate approach in designing national strategy it is necessary to put that document in international context and that is by doing comparative analysis of tourism development strategies of other countries. By determining current level od tourism development in Croatia it is possible to define several alternative scenarios of which each of them points out different future of Croatian tourism.
