Abstract

Ovim radom žele se definirati i istražiti fondovi poduzetničkog kapitala. U radu je prikazana važnost, prednosti i nedostatci fondova poduzetničkog kapitala, način njihovog funkcioniranja, regulatorni okvir te poticajni programi njihova razvoja u Europskoj uniji. Također, istražit će se mogućnost razvoja i ulaganja fondova poduzetničkog kapitala u Republici Hrvatskoj. Inovativna i rastuća poduzeća usmjerena su na stjecanje poduzetničkog kapitala iz vanjskih izvora jer nemaju vlastiti kapital ili nemaju pristup bankovnim zajmovima. Takve tvrtke obično koriste poduzetnički kapital za prodor na nova tržišta, za širenje i brži rast. Međutim, mnogi investitori nisu skloni ulaganju u novoosnovana i inovativna poduzeća zbog visokog rizika. Cilj ovog rada je prikazati značaj fondova poduzetničkog kapitala u financiranju osnivanja poduzeća te u njihovim ranim fazama rasta i razvoja.

Abstract (english)

This paper aims to define and explore venture capital funds. The paper presents the importance, advantages and disadvantages of venture capital funds, the way they function, the regulatory framework and incentive programs for their development in the European Union. Also, the possibility of developing and investing of venture capital funds in the Republic of Croatia is explored. Innovative and growing companies are focused on acquiring venture capital from external sources because they do not have equity or do not have access to bank loans. Such companies typically use venture capital to penetrate new markets, to expand and grow faster. However, many investors are reluctant to invest in start-ups and innovative companies due to the high risk. The aim of this paper is to show the importance of venture capital funds in financing the establishment of companies and in their early stages of growth and development.
