Abstract

Turistička djelatnost često je ključna grana gospodarstva velikog broja zemalja. Razvijanje turizma i eksponencijalan rast broja turista unutar zemlje moguć je samo uz primjenu kvalitetne strategije, razvijanja strateškog plana u poslovanju svakog turističkog subjekta te primjenu kriznog menadžmenta u svrhu sprječavanja nastanka krize. U ovom radu tumače se pojmovi hotela i hotelijerskog poslovanja, krize i vrste kriznih situacija u hotelijerskom poslovanju te važnost kriznog menadžmenta za dugoročan opstanak organizacije. Pojava krize u hotelijerskom poslovanju aktualna je tema trenutnog razdoblja pandemije COVID – 19. Utjecaj kriza na cjelokupan turizam te posebno hotelijersku industriju bit će analiziran na primjeru hotela na području Zagrebačke županije. Svrha diplomskog rada je prikazati važnost osnivanja zasebnog odjela kriznog menadžmenta unutar hotela radi prevencije krize i pravilnog reagiranja.

Abstract (english)

Tourism is a key industry of the economy of many countries. The development of tourism and the exponential growth of the number of tourists within the country is possible only with the application of a quality strategy, development of a strategic plan in the business of each tourist entity and the application of crisis management to prevent crises. This paper explains the concepts of hotel and hotel business, crises and types of crisis situations in hotel business and the importance of crisis management for the long-term survival of the organization. The emergence of the crisis in the hotel business is a topical issue of this period of the COVID – 19 pandemic. Its impact on the entire tourism and especially the hotel industry will be analyzed on the example of hotels in Zagreb county. The purpose of the thesis is to show the importance of establishing a separate crisis management department within the hotel for early detection of crisis symptoms and proper response.
