Abstract

With Artificial Intelligence being a pressing topic in IT and Business, this thesis aims to identify and clarify the potential pitfalls in the ethical use of AI in business. By combining the definitions of Artificial Intelligence and business ethics, this thesis tries to evaluate their correlations and identify areas in business where they overlap. The governance of ethical decision-making is still a less familiar topic to many researchers. Exploring the main ethical dilemmas in applications of AI and showing examples of successful applications of AI in business is a way of learning more about AI in general. The successful integration of ethical AI systems in business is still a work-in-progress where a single mistake can lead to catastrophic consequences. This delicate topic requires much attention from the scientific community and the public because it will be a part of every business operation—the impact AI will have on human societies is still largely unknown to us.
