Abstract

Hoteli su vrsta smještaja koji pripadaju hotelijerskoj industriji te su zajedno s njom ključni za
turizam. Poslovanja hotela prate njihove operativne prakse te se one provode na najbolji način koji
potiče goste hotela na povratak u isti. Hotelijerska industrija je osjetila velike promjene zbog
širenja Covid-19 pandemije i velikih ograničenja putovanja. S obzirom na različite situacije i
katastrofe koje mogu pogoditi bilo koju industriju pa tako i hotelijersku vrlo je bitno poduzeti
mjere za rješavanje različitih izazova povezanih s krizom. Ovaj rad detaljno opisuje posebna
područja za praktičare koji upravljaju hotelima nakon i tijekom Covid-19 pandemije. Cilj ovog
rada je istražiti učinke epidemije na hotelijersku industriju. Empirijsko istraživanje bit će
provedeno na primjeru hotelskih poduzeća na Makarskoj rivijeri. Za provedbu istraživanja izradit
će se anketni upitnik u kojem će se ispitati u kojoj je mjeri Covid-19 pandemija utjecala na
poslovanje hotela te koliko im je vremena trebalo da se prilagode novonastaloj situaciji i novim
sanitarnim praksama. Ispitanici će biti operativni menadžeri hotela i zamolba će biti upućena emailom hotelima na Makarskoj rivijeri. Rezultat rada bit će koje su mjere hoteli, kao i gosti hotela
provodili, što su hoteli poduzeli te što će primjenjivati i u budućim turističkim sezonama. Na
temelju tog istraživanja predložit će se dobre operativne prakse koje bi se mogle koristiti i u
budućnosti bez obzira na pandemiju. Makarska rivijera je uzeta zbog toga što je ona unatoč
pandemiji u ljeto 2020. radila i ostvarivala veoma dobre rezultate.

Abstract (english)

Hotels are a type of accommodation belonging to the hotel industry and together with it are
essential for tourism. The hotel's operations are accompanied by their operational practices and are
carried out in the best way that encourages hotel guests to return to the same. The hotel industry
has experienced major changes due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and large travel
restrictions. Given the different situations and disasters that can affect any industry, including the
hotel industry, it is very important to take measures to address the different challenges associated
with the crisis. This paper describes in detail the specific areas for practitioners who manage hotels
after and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of the
epidemic on the hotel industry. Empirical research will be carried out on the example of hotel
companies on the Makarska Riviera. A questionnaire will be developed to carry out the research,
which will examine the extent to which the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the operation of the
hotel and how long it took them to adapt to the new situation and new sanitary practices. The
respondents will be the operational managers of the hotel and the request will be sent by email to
hotels on the Makarska Riviera. The result of the work will be what measures hotels, as well as
hotel guests, have implemented, what hotels have taken and what they will apply in future tourist
seasons. Based on this research, good operational practices will be proposed that could be used in
the future regardless of the pandemic. Makarska Riviera was taken because it was in the face of
the pandemic in the summer of 2020 it worked and achieved great results.
