Abstract

O poslovanju subjekata od javnog interesa ovisi velik broj interesno-utjecajnih skupina. Interesno-utjecajne skupine najčešće ne posjeduju dovoljno računovodstvenih znanja kako bi procijenile istinitost financijskih informacija prikazanih u financijskim izvještajima. Zbog toga vlasnici poduzeća plaćaju određenu naknadu ovlaštenim revizorskim društvima kako bi oni na temelju provedenih revizijskih postupaka donijeli mišljenje o istinitosti i objektivnosti prikazanih financijskih informacija. Revizijska profesija susrela se s velikim korporativnim skandalima koji su negativno utjecali na povjerenje interesno-utjecajnih skupina u samu revizijsku profesiju. Kako bi se povratilo povjerenje u reviziju financijskih izvještaja, ali i povećala kvaliteta revizije i razina neovisnosti revizorskih društava, Europska unija provela je revizijsku reformu. Revizijskom reformom doneseni su posebni zahtjevi koji se stavljaju pred revizore subjekata od javnog interesa, što je uzrokovalo veći opseg posla. S obzirom da je koncentracija revizorskih društava na tržištu revizijskih usluga subjekata od javnog interesa izrazito visoka, cilj rada je analizirati tržišnu koncentraciju na tržištu revizorskih usluga kotirajućih poduzeća u Hrvatskoj. Prema provedenoj analizi na uzorku kotirajućih društava, Velika četvorka ne čini četiri najveća revizorska društva. U Hrvatskoj se može govoriti o Velikoj petorki, s obzirom da BDO, uz KPMG predstavlja revizorsko društvo koje je revidiralo najveći broj klijenata u 2021. godini. Koncentracija na tržištu revizorskih usluga kotirajućih poduzeća u Hrvatskoj je umjerena, iako postoji veliki nerazmjer između velikog broja malih revizorskih društava te malog broja velikih revizorskih društava koji posjeduju veliku tržištu moć.

Abstract (english)

A large number of stakeholders depend on the operations of public interest entities. Most often, stakeholders do not possess sufficient accounting knowledge to assess the veracity of the financial information presented in the financial statements. For this reason, company owners pay a certain fee to authorized auditing companies so that they, based on the audit procedures carried out, give an opinion on the truthfulness and objectivity of the presented financial information. The auditing profession has encountered major corporate scandals that have negatively affected the trust of stakeholders in the auditing profession itself. To restore trust in the auditing of financial statements, but also to increase the quality of auditing and the level of independence of auditing companies, the European Union implemented an audit reform. The audit reform introduced special requirements that are placed before the auditors of public interest entities, which caused a larger scope of work. Given that the concentration of audit firms in the market of audit services of public interest entities is extremely high, the paper aims to analyze the market concentration in the market of audit services of listed companies in Croatia. According to the analysis carried out on a sample of listed companies, the Big Four do not make up the four largest audit firms. In Croatia, one can talk about the Big Five, given that BDO, along with KPMG, represents the audit firm that audited the largest number of clients in 2021. Concentration in the audit services market of listed companies in Croatia is moderate, although there is a large disproportion between a large number of small audit firms and a small number of large audit firms that have great market power.
