Abstract

This undergraduate thesis aims to present a legal view on the free movement of professional athletes in the EU, to corroborate this topic it was necessary to take into consideration some of the prominent cases such as Bosman ruling, also in the paper in order to confirm the main case, other cases would be stated. The reason why Sport regulation was chosen as a case study is primarily due to its ability to highlight potential conflicts between the political and legal areas. This ability is a result of the unique standing that sport has attained at this point in the European integration process. European Union law, often known as EU law, has existed since the founding of the European Economic Community and is an endless source of legal research. On the other hand, sports were not regulated or given legal protection, nor were they a topic of considerable interest to legal specialists.
