Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad donosi pregled postojećeg stanja energetske učinkovitosti na otoku Korčuli. U tom procesu važnu ulogu ima Europska unija koja ulaže napore da bi doprinijela većoj energetskoj učinkovitosti. Navode se razne mogućnosti koje se nude za unapređenje energetske učinkovitosti na razini Europske unije i Republike Hrvatske te institucije i programi koji su važni za tu provedbu. Rad objašnjava i sam pojam energetske tranzicije i njenu važnost. Naglašava se uloga ruralnih sredina u energetskoj tranziciji s naglaskom na konkretni primjer otoka Korčule. Također, u radu je posebno je obrađena energetska učinkovitost u zgradarstvu na otoku. Ne postoji mnogo primjera energetski obnovljenih zgrada. Analiza je pokazala da je glavna zapreka energetskoj tranziciji nedovoljna informiranost građana. Otok ima veliki potencijal za provedbu energetske tranzicije. Najviše je napora potrebno uložiti u edukaciju stanovništva o korištenju mjera energetske učinkovitosti. Kad bi se uspješno provela energetska tranzicija otok Korčula bi mogao postati energetski samodostatna zajednica.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis gives an overview of the current situation in energy efficiency on the island of Korčula. The European Union has an important role in this process through its efforts to contribute to greater energy efficiency. Various options are described for improving energy efficiency at the level of the EU and the Republic of Croatia, as well as institutions and programs relevant to its implementation. The thesis also explains the concept of energy transition and its significance. The role of rural areas in energy transition is emphasized, with a focus on the concrete example of the island of Korčula, particularly energy efficiency in building design and construction. Not many buildings on the island have undergone energy-efficient renovation. Analysis has shown lack of information among citizens as the main obstacle to energy transition. The island has a lot of potential for energy transition implementation. Efforts need to be focused on educating the population on utilizing energy efficiency measures. If energy transition were successfully implemented, the Island of Korčula could become an energy self-sufficient community.
