Abstract

U ovom radu napravljena je komparativna analiza značajki i funkcionalnosti tri vodeće MOOC
platforme. Kroz usporedbu pojedinih platformi po zajedničkim kriterijima, postavljeni ciljevi
rada bili su istražiti ključne parametre koji utječu na motivaciju studenata i kvalitetu
obrazovanja na MOOC platformama te na kojoj razini MOOC platforme konkuriraju
tradicionalnim metodama učenja. Parametri za usporedbu predstavljeni su različitim
značajkama i funkcionalnostima na razini pojedine platforme i pojedinih tečajeva. U radu su se
koristili sekundarni podaci različitih prijašnjih istraživanja te istraživanjem dokumentacije i
recenzija o pojedinim tečajevima. Usporedbom značajki koji su utjecali na najniže i najviše
stope završenosti tečajeva dokazano je da postoji povezanost konceptualnog modela iza
djelovanja MOOC platformi na uspješnost i utjecaj na motivaciju studenata, a time i kvalitetu
obrazovanja. Zaključci doneseni u ovom istraživanju mogu se primijeniti i na promatranje
konceptualnih modela iza tradicionalnih metoda učenja te ocjenu njihove uspješnosti.

Abstract (english)

This paper compares features and functionalities of three leading MOOC platforms. Through
comparison of the common core criteria on each platform, goals of this paper were to analyse
key parameters which have an impact on participant's motivation to finish the course, given
quality of education provided by MOOC platforms and whether they can compete with
traditional education methods. Key paramerters are presented through different features and
functionalities on the platform level and on the single course level. The data used in this paper
was found by thorough theoretical research of the previous studies and by analyzing chosen
courses' reviews. By comparing features which were related with both highest and lowest
completion rates, it is concluded that there is an existing correlation between conceptual models
behind MOOC methods and their influence on ones' motivation and hence the quality of
education. The findings of this paper can also be applied on the studies of conceptual models
behind traditional methods of education and evaluation of their efficacy.
