Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu istražuje se razina štetnih utjecaja stakleničkih plinova iz zrakoplovne industrije na okoliš, nakon čega se pristupa traženju kvalitetnih alternativa. Zračni promet daje veliki doprinos globalnom gospodarskom prosperitetu jer predstavlja jedinu brzu svjetsku transportnu mrežu, što ga čini ključnim za globalno poslovanje i turizam. On igra vitalnu ulogu u olakšavanju gospodarskog rasta, posebno u zemljama u razvoju. Zrakoplovna poduzeća prevoze više od četiri milijarde putnika godišnje, a prihodi od zračnog sektora iz dana u dan se povećavaju. Zračni promet olakšava svjetsku trgovinu obzirom da olakšava pristup međunarodnim tržištima i omogućava globalizaciju proizvodnje. S druge strane, sa sobom donosi i niz negativnih implikacija. Zrakoplovi ispuštaju velike količine stakleničkih plinova koji trajno zagađuju okoliš i uništavaju atmosferu. U radu se analiziraju europske direktive za regulaciju emisije stakleničkih plinova i traže se alternative zračnom prijevozu, koje bi mogle na održiv način ispuniti cilj premještanja ljudi i stvari s jedne lokacije na drugu.

Abstract (english)

This graduate thesis explores the level of harmful effects of greenhouse gases from the aviation industry on the environment. After that, the author tryes to find the best alternatives for aeroplanes. Air transport is a major contributor to global economic advancement as it enables a uniquely fast-paced world transport network, making it crucial for global business and tourism. There are vital differences at play in facilitating economic growth, especially in developing countries. Airlines transport more than four billion passengers a year, and airline revenue is increasing day by day. Air transport eases global world trade, access to the international market and enables globalization of production. On the other hand, air transport brings a number of negative implications. Aircraft leave large amounts of greenhouse gases that permanently pollute the environment and destroy the atmosphere. This work analyzes European guidelines for the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions and looks for alternatives to air travel, which could provide a sustainable way to meet the goal of moving people and things from one location to another.
