Abstract

Odnos tehnologije, poduzetništva i znanosti oduvijek intrigira. Cilj ovog rada je prikazati povijesni razvoj tehnologije i njen utjecaj na razvoj poduzetništva s naglaskom na promjene koje su svijetu i ljudima takav razvoj i međuodnos donijeli. Poduzetništvo je odavno prepoznato kao generator novih radnih mjesta, konkurentnosti i rasta gospodarstva, a međusobni odnos tehnologije i poduzetništva je dinamičan pri čemu tehnologija utječe na razvoj poduzetništva i poduzetničkih ideja, ali i konkretnih strategija konkurentnosti pojedinih poduzeća. Preciznije, inovacije i promjene u tehnologiji mogu rezultirati unapređenju novih proizvoda, promjenama u metodama organizacije proizvodnje, promjenama u organizacijskoj strukturi, promjenama u kvaliteti resursa i proizvoda, promjenama u komunikaciji s tržištem, novim načinima distribucije proizvoda i novim načinima skladištenja. Sveprisutna globalizacija i digitalizacija pritom definiraju okruženje četvrte industrijske revolucije koja se temelji na umreženosti digitalnog i fizičkog okruženja. Primjeri iz prakse, Virgin Hyperloop One i Rimac Automobili d.o.o., potvrđuju kako je moguće da inovativne i kreativne ideje potpomognute visoko sofisticiranom tehnologijom i širokom mrežom partnera dovedu do revolucionarnih promjena u određenoj industriji. Rad može imati značajne implikacije za poduzetničku praksu. Pregled najznačajnijih tehnoloških dostignuća tijekom povijesti, različiti strateški pristupi razvoju tehnologije unutar poduzeća, a onda i navedeni konkretni primjeri poduzetničkih pothvata pomažu poduzetnicima u boljem shvaćanju sadašnjosti, ali i onoga što ih očekuje u budućnosti čime se zasigurno može pridonijeti dugoročnoj održivosti ne samo gospodarstva već i društva u cjelini

Abstract (english)

The relationship between technology, entrepreneurship and science has always been intriguing. This thesis aims to present the historical development of technology and its impact on the development of entrepreneurship with an emphasis on the changes that such development and interrelations have brought to the world and people. Entrepreneurship has long been recognized as a generator of jobs, competitiveness and economic growth, and the interplay between technology and entrepreneurship is dynamic, with technology influencing the development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ideas, as well as specific competitive strategies of individual companies. More specifically, innovations and changes in technology can result in improvements in new products, changes in production organization methods, changes in organizational structure, changes in the quality of resources and products, changes in communication with the market, new ways of distributing products and new ways of storage. At the same time, ubiquitous globalization and digitization define the environment of the fourth industrial revolution, based on the networking of the digital and physical environments. Cases from practice, Virgin Hyperloop One and Rimac Automobili Ltd, confirm that innovative and creative ideas supported by highly sophisticated technology and a wide network of partners can revolutionize industry. This thesis can have significant implications for entrepreneurial practice. An overview of the most important technological advancements throughout history, different strategic approaches to the development of technology within the enterprise, and specific examples of entrepreneurial ventures help entrepreneurs to better understand the present, but also what awaits them in the future. This can certainly contribute to the long-term sustainability of not only the economy but also of society as a whole.
