The paper analyzes the music industry and the impact of digitalization on the music industry throughout history. The knowledge, use, opinion of people during various technological changes that changed music, music formats, devices for recording and reproducing music, music platforms and the advantages and disadvantages of digitization, are studied. New technological discoveries and rapid changes are forcing the market to adapt quickly, and it is not uncommon for various market disruptions to occur. Today's era is full of changes due to technology, and this is reflected in all industries, so the music industry has had to change a lot too. The paper presents a study based on 146 respondents. The paper shows and analyzes how individuals have embraced the new technologies they must use to continue to enjoy music. It presents the opinion of the respondents and provides a simple answer as generations come into the digital age and without hesitation switch to new technology. When we ask what impact digitization has on the music industry, we don’t have to look for much but we can simply infer from what is around us. For example, today music from the past is available to us in new formats, and due to digitalization, we have easily and quickly available music, regardless of the age in which it was created. With digitalization, the music industry has been digitized, thus simplifying the application and reducing costs, and found itself with problems and challenges such as piracy, copyright, for which it is still necessary to find the right solution. Although there is still room for deeper research, mostly due to age and number of respondents, the survey derived very optimistic and positive results showing that we are entering a digital age that will again accustom us to a new way of consuming music.
