In order to understand the purpose and weight of this topic it is necessary to explain leadership itself, emotional intelligence and her importance and also meaning of mental strength in objective terms. The leadership is not only the action of leading a group of people or an organization, it is much more than that. Leadership is about taking care of those in leaders charge. Leaders are not responsible for the results, they are responsible for the people who are responsible for the results. So, an individual who wants to become a great leader is not only required to have the knowledge and capabilities of dealing with performance to the very detail of a work itself, but to understand the people, to feel their energies and their capacities, to be a constant trigger of their motivation in order to lead them into achievement of common goals. True leadership is not about control and power, it is about service and empowerment. Leadership is far more than simply thinking through issues like competitive strategic management or marketplace dominance. It's about having the strength of character to do what is right even when it's difficult. It's about always putting the needs of the vision before own needs. Leaders have the intuition and wisdom to make decisions that will drive the vision forward, not just what’s expedient in the short term. Leadership is a sort of a blessing but it comes with a cost, and that’s why emotional intelligence and mental strength take a huge part in being a leader, because when being in command with inner self, then a person can have courage and strength to provide an adequate leadership strategy in any segment of their life. Emotional intelligence is the ability to access own intellect while emotions are running high. It is the quality that enables confronting with patience, insight and imagination the many problems facing in affective relationship with ourselves and others. An emotional response to a situation is the single greatest barrier to influence. Emotions cloud reason and if a person cannot see the situation clearly, then it is impossible to prepare the respond to it with a degree of control. Ability to master emotions, and to react with logic regardless of inner feelings is an ability of building a muscle of self-control, discipline and alignment of actions and thoughts, which is important factor in order to be a mentally strong independent individual that has a full control over their decisions and actions. Every individual’s strength lies in their ability in control of their emotions. Achievement of being your own master is possible to achieve only when being in command with your own inner world. Mental strength is the ability of getting things done regardless of the emotional state. Only strong-minded people are able to pursue discipline and courage in order to go out of the comfort zone. When a person faces new challenges with attitude and confidence that are out of the comfort zone, then a person grows in mental strength to the point that they are able to unlock the new approved version of themselves each time they face a new challenge. In order to achieve the goals, it is necessary to apply discipline and consistency, because without commitment there is no start and without consistency there is no achievement, and with lack of mental strength there is no capacity to even begin with building discipline. In order to achieve the set goal of the paper, secondary and primary data will be used. Secondary data will be collected from professional and scientific papers, books, publications etc. Apart from secondary data, primary data will be obtained to achieve the specified aim. Primary research will be conducted on a sample of approx. 200 respondents.
